Vernon C. Saeger

Vernon C. Saeger, affectionately known as Vern, passed away peacefully at his home on November 11, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on November 23, 1940, in Buffalo, New York, Vern's life was characterized by his dedication to his community and his loving family.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving three years in the Philippines.  Through his time of employment at Crisis Services and Spectrum Human Services, he devoted significant time helping others in their time of need and touched numerous lives reflecting his character as a good community man. Known for his great sense of humor, Vern's presence brought joy to those around him and left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

Vern was a family-oriented individual whose pride was evident in his relationships with his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his sons: Jeffrey (Lorraine) and Todd (Ledy). Additionally, he leaves behind beloved stepchildren, Louise (Dan) Keep and Michael (Laurie) Keep, along with his cherished grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, and Elyse. Also remembering Vern fondly are brothers George (Jane) Saeger and Larry Seager.

Vern was an avid player of three cushion billiards, and while in college was nationally ranked. He also loved photography and Jazz. Vern's competitive spirit and drive contributed to many happy memories shared with family and friends.

Vern is predeceased by his sister Margaret Kafka and brother Kenneth (Arlene) Seager, as well as his stepson Steve Keep.

 His legacy of compassion, humor, and dedication to family will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held for Vern on Saturday, November 23rd at 11am at 

Asbury United Methodist Church 850 Dodge Rd. Getzville, New York 14068.
