June 6, 2017 age 89 of Clarence Center, NY. Beloved husband of 64 years to Klara M. (nee Steffens) Mech; dearest father of Robert (Ellen) Mech and Thomas (Cynthia) Mech; grandfather of KariAnn (Travis) Womer and Kelsey (Piotr) Gasiorczyk; brother of late Janina Kizielewicz, late Henryk Mech and the late Jozef Mech; also survived by nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends Friday 9:30 AM – 11 AM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 5090 Transit Rd. (south of Como Park Blvd.). Mr. Mech served in the Polish Army under the British Command as a tank commander during WW II and was wounded in action and was a retiree of the Elma Public Library. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo. www.sliwinskifuneralhome.com
