Roger William Wirth, Sr.

Roger W. Wirth, Sr., a devoted family man and a beloved member of the Depew community, passed away on August 10, 2026. Loving son of Shirley and the late Theodore Wirth, Roger carried forward a legacy of kindness and dedication.

For 28 beautiful years, Roger shared his life with Shelly, his cherished wife. Together, they built a loving family that includes their children: Amy (Justin) Orth, Amanda (Dustin) Pondel, Roger Jr. (Courtney) Wirth, Jillian (Matthew) Garbutt, and James (Cortney) Pirinelli. He was the proud and joyful papa to Alexis, Breanna, Camryn, Maddisyn, Leo, Kinsley, Elliott, Callum, and Benjamin.

Roger's love for baseball sparked from his earliest years continued as he coached Little League, sharing his passion with his children. He found great joy in watching his granddaughters play softball. His talents extended beyond the field; he was a gifted wood-worker who lovingly maintained the family home. Known for his gift of gab, Roger could engage anyone in conversation, bringing warmth to all he met.

Roger is also remembered by his siblings: Patricia (the late Ernest) Hoover, Theodore "Teddy" II (Donna), and Daniel (Carol) Wirth. He held dear his relationships with in-laws Jerome and Raymond Bernfeld, and Wendy (Joseph) Elliott, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to honor Roger’s life on Saturday, September 12, from 3-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 5090 Transit Road, Depew 14043. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00 PM.
