It is with deeply broken hearts that we announce the passing of Rocky Anthony Caputo, age 58. Rocky was a devoted and loving husband to Mary (McMahon), and a proud and caring stepfather to Coral Nolan (Trevor, Luna, Austin, and Dallas) and Phyllis Brodie. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Lucille Harwood, and brother-in-law Michael Harwood, along with Sarah,Nicole (Nathaniel), and Victoria. Rocky shared close bonds with his extended family as a cherished brother-in-law to Patty( Kevin), Sandy, Betsy( Shawn), Carol, Peter, and Annie (Brian). Rocky also leaves behind his faithful dog Finn and his treasured bird Mango.
Rocky was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer in late October 2023. From that moment on, he faced his illness with remarkable courage, strength, and an unwavering spirit. Through every treatment and every challenge, he fought with determination and grace, never losing his appreciation for the people who surrounded him.
He wanted those in his life to know how much their love, friendship, kindness, and support meant to him. If you were fortunate enough to know Rocky, you mattered deeply to him, and he carried that gratitude in his heart.
Rocky will be remembered as a man who lived fully and loved deeply—someone who found joy in music, in family, and in the simple beauty of life. In the words of Jimmy Buffett, “It’s been a lovely cruise.”
A Celebration of Life will be announced as arrangements are finalized.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buffalo Hospice and Palliative Care in Cheektowaga.
Rocky’s love, strength, and spirit will remain with us always.
