Rita B. Masterson

Rita B. Masterson, beloved wife, mother, and friend, left this world leaving behind a rich tapestry of love and cherished memories. Born to the late Raymond and Veronica Bostwick, Rita’s life was marked by the warmth of family bonds and the beauty she found in everyday moments.

She was a devoted wife to Donald Cruickshank. Rita created a loving home where her cherished sons, John (Meredith Jordan) and Paul (Marie Valenzuela) Olivier, thrived under her nurturing spirit. Additionally, she embraced her role as a stepmother to Maggie Roos with an open heart.

Rita rejoiced in her reunion with her brother David (Cindy) Jarvis, who she was separated from due to adoption but found again, bringing immeasurable joy to her life alongside their sister Cynthia (William) Thuman.

Her friendships were treasured, lifelong connections, particularly with Gloria Masters and her children, Andre and Crista. Her neighbors, Elisabeth and Tom Brand, along with Ed and Valerie Frier, enriched her community life immensely.

Rita found joy and creativity through her talents in watercolor painting and crocheting, sharing her gifts with those she loved. She was especially proud of earning her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University at Buffalo, a testament to her dedication and intellect.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her second husband, Chris Masterson. She remains a beloved presence in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.

Rita will be remembered with love by the dear friends she made at the Anchor Bar retirement group, a community that enriched her later years beyond measure. May her memory be a blessing.
