With heavy hearts, we remember and celebrate the life of Peter Pecoraro, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born and raised in Carini, Sicily, Peter, along with his beloved wife Rosa, made the journey to the United States to build a life filled with love and hard work.
Peter was the cherished son of the late Filippo and Carmela (nee LoDuca) Pecoraro. For 54 wonderful years, he was the loving husband to Rosa M. Pecoraro, sharing a partnership rooted in mutual love and respect. His greatest joy came from his family — as a loving papa to Phillip (Marlene) Pecoraro, Carmelinda (Scott) Pidanick, and Frank (Molly) Pecoraro. He was a proud and tender grandpa to Matthew, Julia, Sara, Carmella, and Adam, and a doting great-uncle "Aye Aye Aye" to Zachary and Vivienne. Peter also held dear his close bond with his siblings Pasquale (the late Donna), and Joseph (Pamela) Pecoraro, Pina (Carmen) Gentile, and Anthony Pecoraro, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who felt his warmth and kindness throughout the years.
Peter’s Sundays were sacred times spent surrounded by those he loved most. He took great pleasure in gardening, nurturing both his plants and his family with equal care. His tireless work ethic and commitment to providing for his family are lasting legacies of his character. Together with his father and brothers, they laid the foundation of P & J Construction, a testament to their dedication and resilience. Peter was a traditional man, staying true to who he was by having many espressos and a Boston cream donut any time he could.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Friday, April 24th, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd, Depew, NY 14043. A graveside celebration will be held on Saturday, April 25th, at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Cemetery, assembling at the main gates on Delaware Ave and West Delavan Ave.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Peter's name to Make a Wish Foundation of Western New York, a charity that mimics his generous and loving character.
Peter’s life was one of love, dedication, and community. Though he has passed, his spirit endures in the hearts of all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and inspire those who loved him to cherish every moment together. Rest in peace, dear Peter.
