Norbert Rutkowski

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Norbert Rutkowski, who left us peacefully on July 3, 2025, in his hometown of Cheektowaga, NY. He was a devoted husband to the late Helen (nee Zak) and a cherished father to Larry (Christine) and the beloved late David Rutkowski. Norbert's warmth and kindness will endure through the laughter and love of his treasured granddaughter, Holly Nicole Rutkowski, along with his cherished nieces and nephews whose lives he touched with his gentle spirit.

Norbert was a man of conviction and service. As a proud Army veteran of the Korean War, he embodied courage and commitment, values he carried throughout his life. A dedicated member of the American Legion Francis J. Donovan Post #1626, he actively embraced community engagement and support, enriching the lives of many.

In the world of business, Norbert made his mark as the owner of Four R Construction and Urban Pizza, where his entrepreneurial spirit brought joy to countless customers and warmth to the community. His impact extended beyond work; as a Past President of the Town of Cheektowaga Employees Association and a retiree of the Town of Cheektowaga, he exemplified leadership and dedication.

Norbert's passion for guiding the younger generation shone through in his roles as a Cub and Boy Scout Leader at Queen of Martyrs, inspiring youth with his wisdom and adventure. He was also a valued member of the Southtown Walleye Association, appreciating the beauty of nature and the camaraderie of friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Norbert on Thursday, from 3-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd, Depew, NY 14043. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at Queen of Martyrs Church, where we will all come together to honor a remarkable man. Please assemble at the church.
