Nicholas P. Watson

May 16, 1951 — July 14, 2025

Amherst, NY

Nicholas P. Watson, a beloved family man and dedicated church member, was born on May 16, 1951, in Buffalo, NY. He graced the world with his generous spirit and ability to make people laugh until his passing on July 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

Nick, as he was affectionately called, was proud to be the owner of Watson's Restaurant and Candy Store, as well as serving as the General Manager of Daffodils Restaurant. He often expressed his love for others through the meals he prepared.

A graduate of Kenmore West High School in 1969 and Houghton College in 1973, Nick carried his creativity into various hobbies. From woodturning and ceramics to bird watching and jewelry making, his passion for crafting was evident. He found joy in cooking for others and even had a playful spirit when it came to “squirrel sabotage,” often delighting in the mischief that nature brought to his backyard.

Family was at the very core of Nick’s existence. He was an unwavering support and a source of much laughter for his wife, Pamela Watson, nee Schwartz, and their daughters, Kathlynn Farley, nee Watson, and Karisalynn O'Connor, nee Watson. As a father-in-law to Joseph F. Farley, and a proud grandfather to Savanna Farley, Brynn Farley, Luke O'Connor, and Noelle O'Connor, he embraced each role with devotion and humor. Nick loved to play Santa, especially for his children and grandchildren, bringing an extra sparkle to their special moments and forever instilling in them the magic of family traditions.

Nick’s kindness extended far beyond his familial bonds. He was a dedicated member of Amherst Alliance Church for 35 years, where he served in various roles, including Head Usher, Deacon, Elder, Kids Church Leader, and Kid Connection Leader. His empathetic nature drew him to those in need, and he could always be counted on to lend a helping hand or a reassuring word.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John P. Watson and Mary Watson, nee Armentrout, and his sister Elaine Finn, nee Watson, whose memories will be cherished alongside him. He is survived by his brother, John R. Watson, and sister-in-law, Susan Watson, who remember him as a hard-working and kind-hearted soul.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Amherst Alliance Church, 3915 Millersport Hwy Amherst, NY 14228 on Saturday August 9th, 2025 at 11:00 am. Please assemble at the church. Following the tribute, the family invites relatives and friends to stay to continue honoring Nicholas' life with fellowship and a light lunch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buffalo City Mission or Amherst Alliance Church Kid's Ministry.

As we reflect on Nicholas P. Watson's life, we celebrate a man who brought laughter to everyone who met him, whose generosity knew no bounds, and whose love for family and community will echo through the stories shared by those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered not just for his accomplishments, but for the light he brought into the lives of so many. May he rest in peace, cherished by all who loved him.
