Melvin "Mel" L. Reinheimer

Mel, a cherished resident of Depew, leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betty" for 55 wonderful years. Together, they raised two children, Erik (Ashlee) and Joelle (Justin) Sledz, who brought them immense joy. His pride extended to his grandchildren, Monroe, Taylor, Aubree, Madison, and Rand, who affectionately knew him as Papa "Opa" Mel.

Son of the late Erich and Alice Reinheimer, Mel held family close to his heart. He is survived by his brother-in-law Kenneth (the late Mabel) Klisiewicz and sister-in-law, Carole (Chuck) Zglinicki, as well as nephews, Stephen (Devon), along with their daughter Riley, Peter and the late Jacob Zglinicki.

Mel found joy in fishing and spending time at Chautauqua Lake, as well as bowling. His passion for life shone through his professional dedication as an accountant for the Cheektowaga Police and the Benevolent Association. Above all, Mel cherished the moments spent with family and friends.

In honoring Mel's memory, the family welcomes condolences and suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to the Erie County SPCA or the Alzheimer's Association WNY Chapter, a charity that is dear to the family's heart due to Mel's battle for several years- 6400 Sheridan Drive Suite 320 Amherst, NY, https://www.alz.org/wny?form=FUNDHYMMBXU.
