It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Anne Holtz (nee Madigan) of Sloan, NY, who peacefully entered into rest on October 28, 2025. Mary Anne was the beloved wife of the late Leroy Holtz and a devoted mother, leaving behind her cherished children, Patricia (Encil) Palmer, Michael (TJ) Holtz, and Donna (Phil) Broniszewski.
A proud grandmother, she embraced her role with love and joy, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of her grandchildren: Lynn (Tim Brown) Prebis, Philip (Amanda) Broniszewski, Theresa Holtz (Ven Harper), and Michael Holtz (Kirstie Bobbitt). Mary Anne was also a great-grandmother to the sweet Evelyn Grace Brown, who brought her much happiness.
Born to the late Edward and Marie Madigan, Mary Anne was predeceased by her six siblings, but her spirit remains alive in the memories shared by her family and the many nieces and nephews who held her dear. She was a woman of kindness and strength, who touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd. (near Como Park Blvd., Depew) on Friday, October 31st from 4:00-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will honor her life on Saturday morning, November 1st at St. Andrew's Church, 34 Francis Ave., Sloan, NY at 9:30AM. We kindly ask all to assemble at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in her memory to the Erie County SPCA or the Special Olympics, causes that reflect her compassion for animals and her support for athletes. Mary Anne Holtz will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she loved.
