Marlyn L. Casell

With hearts full of love and memories, we celebrate the life of Marlyn L. Casell, a devoted daughter, cherished wife, beloved mother, and doting “Gramma.” Born to the late William and Vera (nee Gress) Whitehead, Marlyn’s life was a testament to family, kindness, and unwavering dedication.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. Casell and a proud mother to Robert J. Casell (Maria), Holly C. Neu (William), Julie C. Acquard, Mark A. Casell (Diane), and Amy Casell Galenski (David). Her strong spirit extended through ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each affirming her boundless maternal instinct and deep love for the youngest members of her family. Marlyn treasured every moment spent with them, holding close the personal mementos lovingly saved from each family member — treasures that speak to a life filled with affection and cherished memories.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marlyn is preceded in death by her 5 sisters, Elizabeth, Lois, Janice, Barbara, and Judy. 

Marlyn’s kindness and dedication went beyond her family, reflected in decades of selfless service. As a longtime volunteer at Hearts and Hands of WNY, she provided compassionate care and support to seniors, embodying a spirit of generosity that touched many lives. For over fifty years, she was a member of Townline Lutheran Church, where her faith and community ties were a source of strength and inspiration.

Her sharp wit and creative sayings—often sprinkled with humor—will continue to echo fondly through her family’s stories for years to come. Her entire professional career was spent with the telephone company, where her intelligence and dedication shone through.

Marlyn L. Casell leaves behind a legacy rich with love, laughter, and an unshakable commitment to those she held dear. May her memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to all who knew her.
