With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lorraine A. Zelasko (nee Knittel), who departed this world surrounded by the love of her family. Lorraine was the devoted wife of John Zelasko for a remarkable 60 years. She leaves behind a legacy of love as the cherished mother of the late Peter Zelasko (Kelly Zielinski), Scott (Jeannie) Zelasko, and Cindy (Mike) Wlostowski. Lorraine found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, basking in the laughter and happiness brought by her beloved grandchildren: Thomas, Olivia, Jenna, and Emma. Her warm spirit also lives on through several cherished nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Catherine Knittel, and her brother, Harold Knittel, Jr. Her life was a tapestry woven with love and treasured memories, marked by joy in her favorite pastimes. She particularly enjoyed trips to the local casinos, where luck often smiled upon her, and she had a passion for bowling, baking, and shopping. Lorraine was also an enthusiastic supporter of her hometown teams, the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, her spirit always shining brightly when cheering them on.
A gathering for family and friends to honor Lorraine's memory will take place on Thursday from 3-7 PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 5090 Transit Road, Depew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 9:30 AM at St. Gabriel's R.C. Church, 5271 Clinton St., Elma. We invite all who knew and loved Lorraine to assemble at the church Friday morning.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Lorraine's name to the Hospice Foundation, reflecting the compassionate spirit she embodied throughout her life.
Lorraine will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
