Lawrence Conrad Stirling, affectionately known as Larry, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Buffalo, NY, at the age of 74. Born on March 7, 1951, Larry made a mark not just through his career but also through the warmth and love he brought into the lives of those who knew him.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Stirling; son, Allen Stirling; granddaughters, Leanne (Jeff) Marinaccio, Kaylie Stirling, and Samantha Stirling; brother, Charles Stirling; sisters, Donna Bernstein and Diane (Roger) Tharnish; brother, Robert Heckler; as well as niece, Robin (Thomas) Miller.
Larry devoted a significant portion of his life as a machine operator for US Steel Supply, where his dedication and hard work earned him the respect of his colleagues. His commitment extended beyond the workplace; Larry was also a passionate racing enthusiast, having celebrated his accomplishments in exhibition racing, notably achieving eight championships in figure eight and backwards racing.
In addition to his professional life, Larry's spirit thrived in the joys of family and hobbies. He cherished every moment spent with his wife of 55 years, Nancy Stirling, who stood by him as a constant partner and confidant. Together, they cultivated a loving home filled with laughter and memories. Larry took immense pride in being an exceptional grandfather, creating lasting bonds with his three granddaughters: Leanne (Jeff) Marinaccio, Kaylie Stirling, and Samantha Stirling. The backyard he built became a cherished playground where memories were made and love was exchanged across generations.
Larry's passions extended to the open waters, as he found solace and happiness in boating, often taking trips with Nancy, where they enjoyed peaceful nights under the stars aboard their boat. His adventurous spirit also included a profound love for his dogs, having welcomed many furry companions throughout his life. Chase and Griffin, his shih tzus, were a delightful surprise that brought him joy beyond his expectations.
He was a beacon of selflessness and a voice of reason, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer sage advice to anyone in need. Larry’s personality attracted friends and family alike, creating a bond that will be dearly missed.
The legacy of Larry Stirling will remain alive in the stories shared among family and friends and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering love, kindness, and dedication to family will be remembered fondly and serve as an inspiration for generations to come.
The family will be present on Wednesday from 2-4 PM at the New Comer Cremations and Funerals 5090 Transit Road Depew NY 14043 to remember and celebrate Larry's life.
