Joseph G. Mages

Joseph G. Mages Jr., a cherished soul who graced the lives of many, departed from this earthly realm on May 4, 2025, of Cheektowaga, NY. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, especially embodied in his beloved wife, Cheryl (nee Dashner), whose partnership with him was a tapestry woven with deep affection and mutual respect.

As a proud and loving father, Joseph nurtured and supported his children, Erica Mages, Aprile (Kevin) Brooks, Zachary (Matthew Bailen) Simons, Mitchell (Andrea) Simons, and Connor (Alexis) Mages. His heart swelled with joy in the presence of his adored grandchildren, Tyler Mages, Izabella and Vivianne Brooks, and Renan and Wesley Simons, each a bright star in his life.

Joseph’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his siblings, Josette (late Frank) Levy, Cindy (Roger) Arne, and Scott Mages, as well as in the memories of his late brothers-in-law, Ronny and Tony Dashner. His family extends beyond the immediate, creating bonds with nieces and nephews that reflect the warmth and strength of their familial ties.

Known for his dedicated service, Joseph spent over 25 years with Kaminski Trucking in Buffalo, a testament to his hard work and commitment, values he instilled in those around him.

In celebration of his life, family and friends are invited to join together on Thursday from 2-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd, Depew, NY. A heartfelt Celebration of Life will be held at 7 PM, where stories and memories will be shared, honoring the wonderful person Joseph was.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Erie Co. SPCA, a cause that reflects his kindness towards all living beings.

Joseph will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the love he cultivated throughout his life.
