On June 25, 2025, our beloved Joseph F. Biehunik departed this world, leaving a legacy of love and dedication that will echo in the hearts of all who knew him. Joe, a cherished resident of Cheektowaga, NY, was a devoted husband for 56 wonderful years to his beloved Joan (nee Borkowski). Together, they cultivated a life filled with warmth, laughter, and a profound bond that served as a cornerstone for their family.
As a father, Joe embraced the role with unwavering commitment, nurturing the spirits of his cherished children, Kimberly Joan (Michael) Justiss and Christopher Joseph Biehunik. His love extended further, as he became a guiding light to his Godchildren: Elaine (late David) Booth, Henry R. Jr. (Kimberly) Borkowski, and Jennifer J. (Joel) Mahood. Joe's impact on their lives was profound, teaching values of integrity, kindness, and resilience.
Joe was not only a loving family man but also a pillar to many. He shared a special bond with his late sister, Marie (late Paul) Doricko, and carried a strong connection with his brother-in-law, Henry R. Borkowski Sr., as well as his nephew and niece, Paul Doricko and Diane Amantia. His family circle, rich with love and shared memories, continues to embrace the essence of Joe’s spirit.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Joe served our nation with honor. His remarkable journey took him further to the halls of the Buffalo Police Department, where he dedicated 41 years of his life, culminating in his esteemed role as a Detective. His commitment to serving the community showcased his unwavering dedication to justice and the safety of others.
As we gather to celebrate Joe's extraordinary life, the family invites you to join them on Sunday from 3-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 5090 Transit Rd. Depew, NY. A service honoring his life will take place on Monday at 9:15 AM, followed by a solemn Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish at 10:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery—a peaceful final resting place for an extraordinary man.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations may be made in Joe's memory to Tunnel to Towers and that you cherish memories shared and the legacy Joe has left behind—a testament to a life well-lived, defined by love, service, and a profound connection to those around him.
