Listen to Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John C. "Jack" Stablewski on September 25, 2025, in his beloved Cheektowaga, NY. He leaves behind a legacy woven with love, laughter, and the cherished memories held by all who knew him.

Jack was a devoted husband, first to the late Karen Stablewski, and later to his loving wife, Camille (nee Pelczynski). His heart was a treasure chest of affection, enriched as he embraced the roles of father and grandfather with unwavering dedication. He is survived by his adoring children, Brian (Lisa) Kucharski, Michele (Russ) D'Hilly, Kevin (Meghan) Stablewski, and Scott Stablewski, who carry forward his spirit in all that they do. Jack's legacy glows brightly through his grandchildren—Nicole, Rusty, Nicholas, Alek, Ashley, Sean, Jacob, Andrew, and Emma—each one a testament to his profound impact on their lives.

In addition to his immediate family, Jack treasured the bonds with his siblings: dear brother to Melanie (the late Jerry) Meyn, Kenneth (Marian), Sandy (Hank) Wojdan, and the late Arlene (the late Richard) Stepien. A cherished uncle, he will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews.  He will also be missed by his extended family of cousins and many dear friends.

Jack dedicated much of his life to serving his community, as a proud Life Member and past commissioner of the South Line Fire Company, and served two terms as president of the Erie County Fire Commissioners Association. His commitment to helping others exemplified his generous spirit and the love he held for his community.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd., Depew, NY, on Monday from 3 PM to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gabriel's RC Church on Tuesday at 9:30 AM. Please assemble at the church.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Jack’s memory may contribute to Hospice Buffalo, Inc., an expression of love that reflects his compassionate nature.
