April 18, 2020 age 89 surrounded by his family of Cheektowaga, Beloved husband of the late Dawn (nee Doctor); Dearest father of Kathleen (David) Forsyth, late Donald George Coveny, Dawn (Gary) Bulinski, Susan (Christopher) Zanesco, John (Cathleen) Coveny, Jr and Lisa (late Daniel) Campbell; Loving papa to the late Nicholas, Elizabeth, Garrett, Ashlee, Samantha, John M. III, Alexis, David III, Cerrah, Jared, Seth, Dennis, Joseph, Havanna and Ian; Great-grandfather to seven; Son of the late George and Elizabeth (nee Fischer) Coveny; Survived by his sister, Mary (late Roger) Hoffman; predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters; survived by many nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Mr. Coveny is a veteran of the US Air Force. Arrangements by Melvin J. Sliwinski Funeral Home.
