On February 3, 2026, our beloved John Buczynskyj of West Seneca, NY, departed this world, leaving behind a legacy woven from love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a devoted husband to Mary for 57 years and a loving father to Tony (Molly), Kitty (the late JP) Randazzo, and Michael Buczynskyj. John's life was a beautiful tapestry threaded with the joy of his grandchildren, Ian, Emily, Joey, Julia, and Jackson, who brought him immeasurable pride and happiness.
John was not just a family man; he was also a dear brother to the late Nadia (the late James) Slomba, and his spirit lives on through his many nieces and nephews. His educational journey took him to Ohio Northern in Ada, Ohio, where he cultivated knowledge that would serve him well throughout his life.
An avid sports enthusiast, John found joy in the thrill of competition, whether it was on the basketball court, the volleyball net, or the softball field. He also delighted in the calm and precision of golf, enjoying both the game and the time spent with friends and family.
As we gather to celebrate his life, we invite those who loved him to join us on Friday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals located at 5090 Transit Rd. Depew, NY, where a Panahyda service will be held at 6 PM. The funeral services will take place on Saturday at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church at 10:00 AM. We kindly ask that you assemble at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, honoring John's spirit and the faith that guided him throughout life. Though he may have left this earthly realm, John Buczynskyj will forever reside in our hearts and memories, a shining example of love, fatherhood, and friendship.
