Listen to Obituary

Janet Barillari from Buffalo, NY passed away on March 7th, 2026. Prior to undergoing surgery to treat her bladder cancer, Janet had been working full time at Tops Friendly Markets. She inherited this strong work ethic from her father, Al Villa, who worked into his 90's. She inherited her quiet, caring nature from her mother, Helen. She worked with her father for around two decades at his business, Buffalo Lawnmower Supplies on Main Street. Janet was also a graduate of Bennett High School.

Janet was always known to think of others before herself, always asking others "How's work going?" and "Did you eat today?". She was one who often would buy two of everything, just in case somebody in her family needed it. "It was on sale", she would always say.

Outside of work, Janet was a huge Buffalo Bills fan and worked as an usher at their games for a couple of seasons in the mid-2010's. She was also known to devote her time as a volunteer for local organizations such as the Red Cross and Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo.

During her younger years, she loved spending time outside to garden and always enjoyed arts and crafts projects. In more recent years, she loved caring for her beloved cat, Felix. She also enjoyed a good Friday Fish Fry and Strawberry Shortcake for dessert.

Janet was a caring mother to Cheryl (Jeff), Vicky, Mike (Vickie) and Leon (Misty) and grandmother to Michael, PJ, Justin, Joey and Nathan (Hayley).

Services will be held at a later date. If you'd like to make a donation in Janet's name, please consider 10 Lives Club or Hospice & Pallative Care Buffalo.
