James J. Eldridge, father, and proud military veteran, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, at the home of his daughter. Born on October 5, 1960, in Lorraine, Ohio, James lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and a distinct sense of humor that endeared him to those around him.
As a proud member of the United States Army, James served honorably from 1979 to 1983. He received several accolades during his service, including the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and a Good Conduct Medal, reflecting his commitment and discipline.
Outside of his military service, he was known for his loving spirit and strong work ethic, serving as a steadfast provider for his family. He possessed a dry wit that brought joy and laughter to friends and loved ones, illuminating even the simplest of moments.
James held many interests that brought him peace and satisfaction. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, always seeking the tranquility found in nature. His love for reading provided him with a wealth of knowledge and stories, while his penchant for tinkering in his garage allowed him to embrace his creative side.
He leaves behind his daughters Nicole Ewing and Holly Eldridge, and his wife, Kim Eldridge. James is also survived by his brother, Bruce Eldridge, and his sister-in-law, Amy Eldridge, as well as his sister, Peggy Eldridge. He will be fondly remembered by Myaha Heath and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will miss his presence dearly.
James was preceded in death by his father James Eldridge Sr. and his mother Sandra Eldridge as well as son in law Michael Ewing. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will continue to resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Service and Military Honors will be held Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, at 1pm at Western New York National Cemetery 1254 Indian Falls Road Corfu NY
Family will gather at main cemetery gate immediately before.
A luncheon will follow at First Lutheran Church 66 Arthur Ave. Blasdell, New York 14219.
