George M. Chmielewski

In loving memory of George M. Chmielewski, who departed this world on January 23, 2026, in Lancaster, NY, a cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved grandfather. George's life was a symphony of love and compassion, harmonizing beautifully with the hearts of those around him. He stood as a steadfast partner to his beloved wife, Mary Lou (nee Schmitt), sharing a journey filled with laughter, support, and unwavering commitment.

As a father, George's love was a guiding light, nurturing the spirits of his children: Jeffrey (Marian), James (Linda), Robert, Sandra (David) Beaty, Steven (Denise), and the late David (Paula) Chmielewski. He also embraced the joy of family flourishing through the bonds he created with Julie (Jim) Chadwick, Diane (Gary Ross) Quimby, and Ellyn Schmitt. To his 12 grandchildren, he was a source of warmth, wisdom, and delightful stories that will be etched in their hearts forever.

George is remembered fondly by his late sister Alice (late Edward) Stewart, and the legacy of love he leaves behind is enriched by the cherished memories of nieces and nephews who admired him dearly.

The family invites all who knew and loved George to join them in celebrating his extraordinary life. A gathering of remembrance will occur on Thursday, February 5th, from 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd., Depew, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday, February 6th, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Pompeii RC Church; we kindly ask guests to assemble at the church for this significant farewell.
