Estelle R. Ozimek, a cherished member of the Buffalo community, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, at the Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home at the esteemed age of 103. Born on December 19, 1920, in Buffalo, NY, Estelle was a proud daughter of this vibrant city and dedicated her life to her family and her career.
For many years, Estelle served as the Cafeteria Manager at Acme Markets, where her hard work and commitment to excellence were well-recognized. Those who knew her appreciated not only her professionalism but also her kindness and the loving nature that she brought to every aspect of her life.
Estelle was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Ozimek, Sr. Together, they built a loving home filled with warmth and generosity. She is survived by her dearest children, Frank J. Jr. (Laura) Ozimek and Gerald J. (Judith) Ozimek, who carry her legacy of love and hard work. Her role as a grandmother was filled with pride and joy as she welcomed Scott (Kristen) and Jill into her heart, and later great grandchildren, Skylar and Dylan, sharing countless memories with them.
Family was of utmost importance to Estelle, reflected in her close relationships with her siblings. She was the dear sister of Mary (late Stanley) Machnica and the late Joseph (Mary) Majerek, Charles (late Rose) Majerek, Henry (late Frances) Majerek, and Emily (late Joseph) Szafranski. Estelle also held her laws, Leona Ozimek, Ursula Ozimek and John Ozimek, in high regard, and was fortunate to be survived by numerous nieces and nephews, who will remember her fondly.
The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Estelle R. Ozimek. Visitation will take place on September 13, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Newcomer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd, Depew, NY. A Mass will follow at Queen of Martyrs Church, 180 George Urban Boulevard, Buffalo, NY, beginning at 11:30 AM. Estelle will then be laid to rest at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 700 Pine Ridge Heritage Boulevard, Buffalo, NY, at 1:00 PM.
Estelle R. Ozimek will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and community, as well as her loving spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and the many lives she significantly impacted throughout her remarkable life.
