July 31, 2013 age 80 of Alden, NY. Beloved husband of 57 years to Bernice R. (nee Sirface) Charvat; dearest father of Donald J. (Jessica) Charvat, Michele M. (Daniel Jr.) Gabamonte, James P. (Carrie) Charvat and the late Denise Charvat; dear grandfather of Daniel III, Brianna Gabamonte and Emma, Matthew Charvat; brother of Robert (Barbara) Charvat and the late Frank (late Dolores) Charvat; brother-in-law of Barbara (late Richard) Pfeil and the late Marjorie (late Alfred) Champagne; also survived by nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 5090 Transit Rd. (south of Como Park Blvd.) where funeral services will be held Monday at 10 AM. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery. Mr. Charvat was a veteran of the Korean War and exempt member of Pine Hill Hose Co. #5. Flowers gratefully declined memorials may be made to Hospice.
