He was the devoted husband to Marsha (née Ozdarski) Ashton for 54 years, and cherished father to Catherine (the late Michael) Piotrowski, and loving "Pa" to Tucker and Scarlett. Christopher was the son of the late Captain Arthur and Dorothy Ashton, and brother to Deborah (the late Keith) Stocker and the late Brenda (the late Robert) Aiken. He is also fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.

Christopher’s dedication to his career was marked by notable achievements. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Union College in 1967 and graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 1974. He served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971, assigned to the Office of Special Investigations. Following his military service, Christopher contributed to the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct from 1976 to 1981. From 1981 up until his retirement, Christopher was proud to have spent most of his career at Aldrich & Cox, Inc. While there, he was a Licensed Life and General Insurance Consultant, providing employee benefit and risk management services, giving him the title of Senior Consultant. During his years at Aldrich & Cox, Inc., Christopher also worked as an instructor at Canisius College, teaching Basic Welfare Benefits as part of their Institute for Management Development.
