Brigitte Anna Wilk

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brigitte Anna Wilk (nee Jakob) on May 3, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.  Brigitte came to the United States through Ellis Island from Germany at 12 years old.  After a few moves, she settled in Cheektowaga, NY.   Brigitte was a loving mother whose warmth and humor spread to everyone she encountered. She is survived by her beloved children, Ricky, Ronny (Maureen), Brigitte, and Tina, who will forever cherish the memories of her unconditional love.

Brigitte’s heart shone brightly through her role as a grandmother to ten cherished grandchildren: Christina, Michael (Ashley), Jacqueline (Ian), Courtney, Kyle, Brittany (Jarrett), Brianna (Michael), Taylor (James), Samantha, and Charlie. Each grandchild holds a piece of her spirit, a testament to the countless moments of joy she shared with them. Brigitte was also blessed with eighteen great-grandchildren, spreading her legacy of love across generations.

A dear sister to the late Gerda "Peggy" and Traudle "Trudy", Brigitte maintained strong familial bonds that extend beyond her immediate family, especially her niece, Joanne and her late nephew, Karl, who cherished their time with her as a mother figure.

The family invites friends to join them for a time of remembrance and love on Wednesday, May 14th, from 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd, Depew, NY.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 7 PM, honoring the beautiful journey Brigitte shared with all of us. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests your thoughts and prayers as they celebrate the remarkable life of a truly special woman.

Brigitte's spirit, humor and love for her German heritage will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
