Betty J. Pache, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully in her daughter's home in Cheektowaga, New York on August 6, 2025, at the age of 95. Born Betty Schultz on November 29, 1929, in Lancaster, New York, she devoted her life to caring for her family, embodying the essence of love and commitment in her role as a homemaker.
Betty’s love story began in a field in Cheektowaga, where she married her sweetheart, Robert, a bond that would last fifty four years until his passing. She cherished recounting the humorous memory of their wedding day, where a rogue cow's mighty "MOOOOO" interrupted the solemn moment, a testament to her delightful spirit and ability to find joy in the simplest of experiences.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her daughters, Barbara (late Thomas) Beneduce, Nancy Roetzer, and Nancy's husband Joseph, son Robert and his wife Caryn. Her family expanded with grandchildren Aaron and Emily Beneduce, Beth and Rick Starzynski, Kimberly and Adam Smith, and Robert Pache Jr and Lindsay Batrowny, Jason and Hillary Dormann, Jacob and Alicia Dormann, William and Jenna Dormann, Susan Pache, Sharon and Matt Joyce, Tess Beneduce, and Scott MacKinnon. She also leaves behind cherished great-grandchildren, Devin, Zoe, Finley, Reya, Aiden, Connor, Luke, Grace, Charlotte, Coraline and Benjamin.
Betty was predeceased by her dear husband, Robert, and her son, Ronald. Her sisters Lois (Bob) Mauer and Carol (Allen) Havernick, along with son-in-law Thomas Beneduce, also left this world before her.
She is remembered fondly by her sister Shirl and her late husband John Fechtor, alongside brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, including the late Paul (late Angie) Pache Joan (late William) Reger, Arlene (late Fred) Mueller, Richard and Carol Pache, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who cherished her vibrant presence.
Her passions were as varied as her interests; she found delight in the flourishing flowers of her garden, nurturing not just the plants but a deep affection for all garden creatures, including cardinals and surprisingly snakes, one of which she heroically rescued from a gardening net.
Betty had a zest for life that shone through in her visits to craft stores, shopping, and spending leisurely hours amid the allure of the mall.
Betty was a known Chocoholic; who would never refuse a good or even sometime not so good chocolate. She was especially fond of chocolate-covered cherries, which became a beloved gift from her husband every anniversary—a tradition lovingly continued by her daughter after his passing. She also wouldn't turn down a cold beer and pizza even right up until her final days, all testaments of Betty embracing the joys of life with gusto.
Betty was a life member of the Bellevue Ladies Auxiliary and spent many years helping out at the firehall, running the bake goods table for the flea markets and helping in the kitchen making yummy potato salad and coleslaw.
Her memory will live on through the love and laughter she brought to those fortunate enough to know her, as well as through the stories of her remarkable life, both humorous and heartwarming.
